Since the USS Maquis is a correspondence chapter of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc., most of our members will be in different parts of the world. The duties and job descriptions that follow the real world aspects that will be in play as time goes on and we meet each other face-to-face at Science Fiction Conventions, Charity events, Regional and Fleet conferences.
If we are role-playing or simming the ‘traditional fictional’ duties will be carried out as if we were actually out there. As in any organization there are positions held by the membership that required a bit more effort and responsibility. Department heads and senior staff are positions of responsibility. In order to qualify for a Senior Staff position or Department head a member must have completed the STARFLEET Officers Training School (OTS) course, STARFLEET Officers Command College (OCC), within 6 months of their appointment, and have been an active member for at least six months. The following breakdown of department heads and Senior Staff serve not only as a blueprint on how to Maquis works, but will give you, as a new member, and idea of what each department does and may help steer you in the direction you want to pursue.
