As commanding officer of the USS Maquis, I would like to welcome you aboard. We are a Correspondence Chapter of STARFLEET the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. The Maquis was originally organized and launched by Maquis Forces International members.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints and life, the USS Maquis disappeared as a STARFLEET chapter being decommissioned sometime in 2006.
On June 3 2010, the USS Maquis was given a new chance to become a viable chapter in STARFLEET to continue extending the hand of teamwork and cooperation with other Fleet chapters.
I hope you will enjoy your tour of duty on the ship.

Greetings!
Welcome aboard the USS Maquis! I am very pleased to have you as a part of our crew! While we are a Starfleet chapter, our very existence as a chapter is due to no small part to our love of being a Maquis. Being Maquis means that we color outside the lines and are not part of the traditional mold that comprise many fan clubs. Rejoice in our differences, which is the great homage we can be to the man who created Star Trek and IDIC (Infinite Diversity Infinite Combinations).
I am very proud to service as your Executive Officer and look forward to hearing from every member of the crew over our tenure aboard.
